Video Recall is an independent browser extension for finding videos in your Facebook watch history. It is not affiliated with Meta or Facebook.
On supported Facebook watch-history and reel pages, the extension reads video IDs, captions, creator names, thumbnail URLs, video duration when available, and available watch times. It reads your Facebook account ID from page data to separate local libraries. Searches are processed locally and are not sent to the developer.
To request video details, the extension temporarily reads Facebook page tokens in memory and sends them to Facebook. It uses your browser's existing same-origin signed-in session. The extension does not read or store cookie values, passwords or a separate Facebook login. Tokens are not saved in the local library.
Your video library is stored in chrome.storage.local in this browser profile. It is not sent to a developer server and is not synchronized by the extension to other devices. Video IDs and the information necessary to perform a video-detail request are sent directly to Facebook over HTTPS. Thumbnail images load from Facebook's image servers, which receive ordinary image requests. Facebook's own policies apply to its services and responses.
The extension has no analytics, advertising, tracking pixels, sale of user data, or developer-operated data collection service. It does not access your general Chrome browsing-history database. When you open a Facebook reel, it may save that reel's available metadata to your local library so it can be reused later.
Data is used only to display, search, reopen and locally cache watched-video details. Video Recall's use of user data is limited to providing these user-facing features and follows the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Data is not used for advertising, credit decisions, data brokerage or unrelated profiling.
Saved metadata remains in this browser profile until you clear it or remove the extension. Open “Local data” in the panel, or the extension's Options page, and choose “Clear saved videos”. Close Facebook tabs that are loading details before clearing to prevent a running request from saving another result. Clearing the extension library does not clear your Facebook watch history. Removing the extension removes its local storage through the browser's normal extension removal process.
